Every April, the Delaware Valley Earth Science Society organizes a Fluorescent Night Dig in Franklin, NJ, world renowned for its fluorescent mineral deposits in the long-abandoned zinc mines. Minerals found here, many rare, fluoresce in every color in the rainbow. But it must be pitch dark to see the colors under ultraviolet light.
